Today is blog about the environment day!

So everybody should consider buying compact florescent bulbs to replace their aging conventional bulbs and try to use less disposable plastic bags and all that stuff! Mary and I have been making a conscious effort to lessen our impact on the enviornment and we may even one day become carbon neutral. We also regularly make sure to make trips to the special hazardous waste disposal site at the dump for electronics, batteries, chemicals, and if we ever manage to burn out a compact fluorescent light that is where we will take it too because it has mercury in it or something.

Good luck everybody!

Taryn and I have found that using canvas tote bags for groceries is much nicer than the icky plastic bags they give you at the store (they fit more stuff, and more heavier stuff, and their handles won't stretch and tear off).

We have these really funny stripey ones that look super dorky but that have drawstrings on top, and those are super!

Thanks Brendan - now I know what to give Mary and Elliot for Christmas! I can make them from canvas or even soft sided.

oooh! we actually already use canvas bags for the grocery store! we have 4 that we keep in Elliot's car and i have 1 in my car. we greatly prefer them, too. my sister, Sara, even bought some and started using them, too.

plastic bags are the worst!

Planting trees helps in carbon sequestration (i.e. trees suck up dirty air from cars). Rock on.
