Elise Day 601, Clark Day 28: Halloween

We did take all four kids out trick-or-treating on October 31st, but we can't post pictures of our foster children online and all of the pics of the kids in costumes are group pics. I like this picture, though-- Clark and Elise look sweet together. Elise was happy that Clark and Mommy were home.

Clark has always had a very strong neck. He could hold his head up for a long time ever since he's been born. (A long time relative to his age, of course.) One of the nurses in the ICU even commented on how strong he is and how long he can hold his head up. Here he is looking around his room, October 27th:

Elise participated in a Halloween party at the hospital. She got to keep this fluffy blue princess crown and a whole bucket of goodies. October 27th:

The pediatric floor of the hospital has a little room with refreshments for the families of children who are admitted to the hospital. Elise loved going to the room and getting herself some graham crackers. Here she is enjoying her snack, October 28th:

Elise Day 595, Clark Days 21 and 22

There was one day while Clark was in the hospital in October that we failed to take a picture of Elise. I'm pretty sure it was October 24th. Things were so crazy with Clark going back and forth to the ICU and Elliot having to work from home. I'm sorry that we didn't get a picture of Elise that day, but we were doing our best to keep all of the kids on a good schedule and invariably some things got overlooked.

Here is a picture of Clark from October 24th. Still in the ICU, but off the CPAP machine and now on high-flow oxygen.

Elise Day 592, Clark Day 19

October 22nd:

Sleepy Elise

After making progress recovering from the RSV, Clark then developed pneumonia. He was moved back to the pediatric ICU and was put on a CPAP machine to help him breathe. Looking at this picture makes me so sad.

A picture for Elise from October 21st has magically appeared! Yay! It's a cute one, too. :) Elise in her Halloween jammies:

Elliot and I don't have a picture for Elise on this day. Sorry, Elisey. :(

Clark remained in the hospital during the middle of October. Here is a picture I took of Elise and me while she visited her little brother on October 18th:

There were toys in the pediatric section of the hospital that Elise could play with in Clark's room. She especially liked this super LOUD Sesame Street toy:

Elise Days 585, 586, 587; Clark Days 12, 13, 14: Hospital

I've taken a while to post these pictures, I guess because I don't enjoy looking at them. They break my heart. Having Clark in the hospital with RSV for over 2 weeks was hard on everyone in our family, but poor baby Clark had it the worst by far.

This picture was taken the first day Clark was in the hospital, October 15th. An IV was inserted into his scalp because they couldn't find a big enough vein anywhere else on his tiny little body. He has an oxygen tube under his nose, heart and breathing monitors on his chest, an oxygen monitor on his right foot, and a blood pressure cuff on his left leg.

Here is Eliseypoo in bed after a long, stressful day on October 15th:

Another sleepytime pic of Elise:

Clark was moved out of PICU and onto the regular pediatric wing of the hospital as his breathing seemed to improve. Here he is on October 17th in a hospital crib:
