Days 374, 375, 376, and 377

Elise sleeps with a teddy bear now. She hugs it to herself really tight. Super cute. Here she is napping on March 18th:

Baby, you can drive my car. Elise gets her first driving lesson! Okay, not really. On Daddy's birthday, we went to Chuck E. Cheese to meet up with some of Ingrid and Caleb's relatives. It was a nice trip-- the kids had fun. Happy Birthday, Daddy!!! March 19th:

Elise LOVES to put this toy in her mouth and walk around with it covering her face. I think that she's peeping out of the hole in the middle. She got kind of obsessed with this for a while. March 20th:

Silly Elise. March 21st:

Days 368 and 369: More Birthday Celebrating

On March 12th, we had a small birthday party in Sarasota for all of the kids plus Elliot. Elise and her foster siblings, Ingrid and Caleb, had a wonderful time. We set up a ball pit, blew some bubbles, and ate strawberry shortcake. Here is a picture of Elise, just before the party began (can you tell that she's excited?):

On our way back to Tallahassee on March 13th, we stopped at a shopping mall and took the kids to a Build-A-Bear store. Here is Elise kissing her newly stuffed toy:

Days 366 and 367

Elise loves bubbles! March 10th:

After Elise's one year old doctor's check up, she was extremely tired. The stress of 4 shots left Baby Elise feeling that grocery shopping was more than she could take. She slept the whole trip, right until I put my last bag of paid-for groceries in the cart. March 11th:

Day 365: Happy First Birthday, Elise!!!

Happy Birthday, Baby Elise! Elise turned 1 year old on March 9th. She started off the day playing with a birthday present from Mommy and Daddy. She really likes this toy-- it sings the ABC song and teaches you what sound each letter makes. Elise discovered that the letters taste good, too!

Elise also got a birthday tutu. So pretty! She looked super cool in her legwarmers, tutu, and ruffled shirt.

Thank you, Elise for the happiest, most wonderful year of my life. I love being your mommy!!!

Days 362, 363, and 364

On April 1st, I discovered that I was indeed the April fool. I had misnumbered my Elise Every Day posts. In looking back, I realized that my mistake had occurred very early on. On day 18 I reposted it as day 17-- two day 17s. Oh man. So I had to renumber nearly every post I've ever made of Elise pictures. :(

We've got it figured out now, though. Back on track. Here is Elise playing footsie with her foster sister, Ingrid. The picture is all blurry because they were really kicking and shaking their car seats! March 6th:

March 7th:

Elise got a singing birthday card from her Great-aunt Marilyn. She loved it. Here she is looking at it for the millionth time, March 8th:

Days 354, 355, 356, and 357

This picture is an homage to Elise's Aunt Laura. When Laura was a baby she drooled and drooled like crazy while she slept. Elise normally doesn't drool... but on Aunt Laura's birthday, the sleepy baby drool seeped out. Happy Birthday, Laura. You get baby drool as a present! February 26th:

Elise likes to play with laundry baskets. February 27th:

Day 345: The Great Baby Explosion!

February 17th was a big day for our family. There was a baby explosion!

Here is Elise saying, "What do you MEAN?! I'm not the babiest anymore?!?!?"

My sister Sara delivered her first child, sweet baby James, in the morning on the 17th. He weighed 6 lbs 13 oz and was as healthy (and cute!) as could be:

And I had my first ultrasound for Elise's little brother or sister:

That's right! I'm pregnant again! Right now we're calling this one "Dinky" until we know if it's a boy or a girl. The pregnancy is going well so far-- a lot less morning sickness than I had with Elise. Dinky was a bit of a surprise and the doctor has been unable to determine just how far along I am right now, but we think that the baby will be born some time in October.

Days 341, 342, 343, and 344

Hooo doggies, I'm behind on posting pictures! We've been so busy lately. Well, time to catch up...

Elise is very good at knowing her body parts. She knows head, ears, nose, mouth, tummy, toes, and sometimes eyes and knees. Here she is showing us where her head is, February 13th:

Here Elise looks a lot like pictures of her daddy that I've seen from when he was little. A Valentine's Day daddy smile:

Elise likes to hear us say "Bless You"

After she sneezes or hears someone else sneeze she will do a cute fake sneeze and if we say bless you, she will continue to do it so as to hear more bless you I can only assume. Check out the video below for an example. Also she knows her head and her tummy now. I had to make one edit to the video so forgive the weird cut in there.

Days 330, 331, and 332

Elise made a trip to the emergency room on the night of February 2nd. She has an umbilical hernia (which is pretty common in babies) and her hernia was becoming discolored. We had an ultrasound and x-rays done, and it turns out that she had some baby fat squished through the hole of her hernia. The fat was losing its blood supply and starting to die. As bad as that sounds, the doctor said that she would be just fine. It looked sort of like a bruise. Within a few days, it was all better.

Here is a picture of Elise waiting to see the doctor:

February 3rd:

February 4th was Aunt Sara's 30th birthday! Elise helped to celebrate with a naked scooter ride around her room:

A perfect example of Snoot Face.

You all know the Snoot Face. It is usually accompanied by a snort. Well this is perhaps the perfect example of such a face.
