On Saturday, Elise's music school had a family day celebration. The kids had a great time. They got to dance, play instruments, sing songs, and roll hula hoops. Here is Clark dancing with a scarf:

On Sunday we went to Wakulla Springs for the first time. All four of the kids were beside themselves with joy when they realized that they would get to play in the (cold, cold) water. This was Clark's first trip to play in a body of water bigger than our bathtub. Clark was very happy splashing in the water and digging in the sand.

We have been growing a potato plant as a little family science experiment, and Elise especially loves studying and checking up on it. Of course, when I asked her if she wanted to take a picture with the plant, she made her favorite "funny face" for the camera:

Elise flying her first kite! This experience would surely make the top 10 list of Elise's Most Adorable Moments. She took off running with that kite, squealing the whole way, and I don't think she would have stopped until she fell over from exhaustion if we didn't yell at her to come back. It was so cute.

Elise, Caleb, and Ingrid are all fascinated with diggers and earth moving vehicles lately. Elise was overjoyed to see this hulking construction machine outside of her music class the other day. She wanted me to take a picture of her standing near it:

May 9th: May Showers

Clark's first shower with Daddy! He wasn't as enthusiastic about the shower as Elise was when she was little, but he wasn't scared, either.

Elise joined in the shower, too, and even helped to wash herself:

Elise LOVES the water. Swimming lessons will be starting soon and she's already talking about wearing her bathing suit and going back to the pool. All four of the kids will be taking swimming lessons this summer. What fun!

Elise often sleeps with her legs propped up on something. The other night I checked on her and she was sleeping on her back with her legs straight up along the wall.

May 6: Our 5 Year Wedding Anniversary

Happy anniversary to us! Elliot and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary on May 6th. Of course, with four tiny children we didn't have much time or opportunity to make any big plans. We did eat delicious cupcakes and drink champagne after the kids went to bed, though, and that's good enough for me.

Another day where Elise screamed "No Mommy!" when I asked to take her picture and then either hid her head or made a face every time I pointed my phone in her general direction:
