If we'd have gone to watch fireworks on the 4th of July, this is what Elise would have looked like:
I took Elise to get some pictures done at Sears on July 5th. She cried nearly the entire time. Not at all happy about being there. Poor baby. I took this picture with my phone, just to show her that it was okay. She usually likes when I take her picture and then show her the picture of herself on the phone. As you can see, it didn't really work.

We've had terrible luck with Sears. Go to a place that specializes in baby portraits (buy buy baby and babies r us have inexpensive portrait studios). I've had the best luck taking Andy around 3 in the afternoon, about half an hour after his nap is over.
elise was scared of the photographer. she's in this phase right now where strangers scare her-- especially men. and if they have facial hair (which this guy did), then it's game over. he offered to reschedule with one of the ladies that work there. he really was trying. Elise just needs, like, 45 minutes to warm up to someone and that's not practical when you have an appointment to take photos.
we got one good pose out of it. that's all i needed, really.
