Tum'tumo from Eritrea
On Thursday I made Tum'tumo from Eritrea. It is a lentil and tomato dish. Very simple. We ate it with bread and a salad. It is definitely something we would eat again.
(Note: click on the name of the dish, above, for a link to the recipe.)

It tastes even better when the lentils are more smashed up(Like a paste) and berbere(an eritrean spice) is used instead of tomatoes.
The recipe we used called for "berbere or hot sauce" and we used the hot sauce. I'm sure it's better with the berbere, but we had to make due with what we could find at our local grocery store!
Anonymous #2, if you click on the word "Tum'tumo" in the body of the post, it is a hyperlink to the recipe. I used hot sauce instead of berbere, but just substitute the berbere (same amount as for hot sauce).
Also, don't forget that Anonymous #1 suggested mashing the lentils!
