Atlanta with kitties!

This last weekend Mary and I went to Atlanta so that we might visit our friend Byron. Bryon has a cute little kitty named Sophie.

We went to numerous good restaurants and also visited the IKEA store, which was AWESOME.

Before the Digital Camera

Here is a picture of a photograph that was taken when Elliot and I were in high school. We're at a shooting range. The thing about Elliot is that to truly bond, dangerous weapons usually have to be involved. Dangerous weapons or video games. And I don't play video games.

Katydid What?

A lot of cool bugs live in our yard. Here's a katydid that Elliot and I found a few months ago. I tried to identify it and I found some katydid species that look very similar, but I couldn't find a perfect match.

What a friendly Christmas time we had!

In addition to spending some of the best ever quality time with my family, Mary and I also spent some great quality time with our friends. Thank goodness for family and friends. The above picture was taken at Brendan's Parent's house.

Who is in the picture from left to right: Jen, Chris, Brendan, Taryn, Mary, Elliot and Randy.

Mary and I went away for the weekend.

We took a trip to Apalachicola and stayed in a nice little bed and breakfast called the Coombs House Inn. Here are some pictures.

This is the back porch of the inn.

Here is Mary near a little shop.

There is stuff like this all over the place here!

The restaurant called Owl Cafe was exceptional and I would go back just for the food there. The service at the Inn was great and innkeeper was very nice and accommodating. Mary and I rode some bikes and had a great time!

Anyone wanna see my grandma playing the Wii?

Well look right here!
By the way she is over 80 years old and still, quite obviously, going strong.

I had heard all about how non-traditional gamers were supposed to be able to pick up and play the Wii. I decided to put that to the test.
It was mostly a success.
Both my Aunt and My grandma seemed to enjoy playing the Wii though to be perfectly honest it did take them a while to get used to the controls, but probably a much shorter time than would be required for any other game controller. The fact that my Grandma even played at all is a testament to the ease of use and intuitiveness of the Wii-mote. I am not sure she didn't have too much fun but she definitely had a good time overall. Congratulations to her for playing videogames! Thanks Mema!

Mammaw

My mother found this picture of her mother posted on the internet. Isn't my grandmother pretty? She must have been a teenager in this picture, if the date is accurate.

De-evolution of the Modern Bride

My dear friend Kelli (whom I've known for over 10 years) was given a bridal shower just before Christmas. It was tons of girly fun; Kelli was crowned Queen, had presents bestowed upon her, and was served a feast fit for a king. Even though there was no official medieval theme to the party, I think it's pretty obvious that we reverted to the laws and customs of feudal England.

Here is a picture of Kelli ruling over her subjects (see how sad and oppressed I look?):

And here I am sacrificing a pinata donkey for the entertainment of all who are present:
